    I wouldn't buy one now.
iPad and others are on the rise and there will soon be ways to do similar stuff on multiple plattforms. Maybe even JazzMutant releases an iPad-version of the Lemur-software.
I always considered these touchscreen-interfaces to supplement tactile controllers rather than replacing them.

    Spot on.

A touchscreen will never be able to feel as good as an actual piece of hardware, at least not if it tries to be like one. I believe that touchscreens will be useful in DJing the day that someone thinks of it as a touchscreen and not a device to reproduce faders, knobs and buttons.

When developers make it functional even when blindfolded - thats the day Ill start to think about getting a touch-device.

I think the JazzMutant will have an Ipad app. With Midi coming to the Ipad in a couple weeks and the JazzMutant people still keeping a firm propietary grip on the SW its kinda obvious.

I bet $100 that if they release the Ipad app they will make more money compared to their sales of the hardware device. $2500 for the thing made it just prohibitive to many many folk. Now I could see a dream setup of the S4, Maschine and JazzMutant app on Ipad with some Kaoss Pad XY like functions for effects... yummiz...

Called this months ago, and as of right now, it's still a no go on an iPad app from them. Hell, they won't even open source the software so that those of us with Lemurs can keep them functional. Next OS release will break the JazzEditor, which will break the entire functionality of the Lemur. Very bad times.
