appears that it's very much the latency on the settings; though i actually had my rss reader and airport off at the same time while having shit upped to 10ms.
thanks again guys for the insights.
now it's back to 4Decks, EFX and a 909. emulator. heh.
PEACE!

Get some more memory, it can never hurt and since I upgraded to 4gb I have had way fewer issues. Also, PM me if you want to buy some super cheap laptop DDR2 ram you can pop in and speed things up.
The only thing I still have an issue with is sometimes when I turn FX units on a deck I get a horrible distorted crackling noise, it's strange. Luckily it seems to only happen during practice messing around (I use fewer effects live) so thankfully it hasn't screwed up a set. I would like to eliminate it altogether though.

thanks man
more RAM definitely sounds good -- but of course before the task of backing up on everything in here.
yeah seems like having 2 or more FX switched on might be the problem as well, which is weird. hopefully it doesn't affect live shows. if it does during soundcheck, i'd have to revert back to Live lol
peace.
