Pioneer DJM-T1: Brand New Traktor Mixer

We have the scoop on the new DJM-T1 mixer from Pioneer fresh off the floor at Musik Messe. This appears to be Pioneer’s equivalent to the popular Rane TTM-57SL, a 2 channel mixer with integrated support for Traktor Scratch and controls over loops, effects and cue points. Pioneer has listed the price at close to $2,000, which even though it includes scratch vinyl and Traktor scratch duo license seems very high. Along with a built in sound card, the DJM-T1 supports mixing of analogue and digital sources.

  • Pioneer DJM-T1
  • Available: July 2011
  • Price: RRP £1,279 ($1900)
  • Ships With: Traktor Scratch Duo
  • Weight – 6.1 KG
  • Dimensions – 265 mm (W) x 403 mm (D) x 108 mm (H)
  • Key Feature: Integrated Sound Card and Support for Traktor Scratch Duo

The following text is taken from Pioneer’s promotional material

Layout mirrors TRAKTOR SCRATCH DUO 2

The DJM-T1 is not “just” a mixer; it boasts controller functions designed specifically for the included TRAKTOR SCRATCH DUO 2 software, so there is no need for an external controller. DJs get instant access to the 2 new Sample Decks, to create their own loops from live tracks, or remix and edit on the fly. Each Sample Deck gives the option of four loops or samples, for endless possibility.

Software functions such as browse, fast forward, play and rewind are also operated straight from the mixer. FX, loops, hot cues and sampling controls on the unit mirror the TRAKTOR 2 interface for intuitive operability.

Scratch control using DJ player turntables

Fully TRAKTOR SCRATCH certified and equipped with a powerful USB soundcard, so DJs just need to use the included CONTROL CD or vinyl to start operating the software’s scratch functions through their CDJs or turntables. Professional performance is further enhanced by the built in booth monitor feature.

FX

6 of TRAKTOR’s most popular and impressive tempo-synched DJ effects (Reverb, Delay, Flanger, Filter, Beatmasher, Gater) and 1 filter per deck complete the sonic weaponry, giving DJs all the tools they need to stand out from the crowd. Plus the LFO CONTROL signal output changes at beat-by-beat intervals for precision control.

Internal USB soundcard let DJs easily record sets

The onboard USB soundcard eliminates the need for an external soundcard, so DJs can connect the mixer straight to a computer with a single USB cable. That means recording live or practice sets is a breeze, as the included audio interface enables output signal switching to suit the activity, whether that is DJing, recording or producing music.

Enhanced channel fader operability and durability

The new channel faders are smoother and more durable than ever before, thanks to 2 metal shafts supporting the fader knobs. The fader is positioned to the side, minimizing damage from liquid or dust that can get inside. The DJM-T1 crossfader has an exclusive Pioneer magnetic construction that provides extreme durability, and can be used more than 10 million times, while Pioneer P-LOCK Fader Caps are impossible to pull off in the heat of a mix. The operational load, fader curve1 and cut lag2 can also be adjusted to your preference.

At the rate that Pioneer is charging for gear and the recent setups in Seratos software, if things stay this way, djs are gonna start switching back to Serato. I loved Traktor for all the effects and options but now serato is looking much better. The boring colors and inability to change key features in traktor are killing interests. Like being able to change waveform location and colors (more than yellow, brown, or blue). And event though the effects are kool, traktor pro has WAAAY to much stuff in it. And it’s all pretty useless unless you program a midi into it all. And to get the most out of it, you’d need multiple midi or one expensive one that has the ability to support it all. And when is VIDEO coming into the mix?! This mixer is just a slap in the face. WHY pay 1900 when i can get the ENTIRE Serato package and top mixer for $1400?!

  • 320i24v

I am a Serato Scratch user, SL3 to be exact, I had some meetings with Traktor and I really appreciate it, but don’t like it, don’t love it to be more exact. And Pioneer Traktor mixers, consoles, Traktor S4 which is a great piece of engineering. I respect them but I don’t understand one thing: why is RANE holding back? When are they going to release the new things that will kick the Traktor’s butt? Because as a user said on this forum, dear RANE, will all these Traktor releases, there is a new sheriff in town!

  • Raysampat

I am a pioneer loyal user. Love the product, love my CDJ400’s on Midi, love my 1000 head phones. BUT PIONEER IS TRULY GETTING OUT OF CONTROL WITH THEIR PRICES.

The DJM-T1 suxx ass! Such crap! Yet another cashcow shoved onto us by Pioneer. Another mixer we can really do without. Their HiFi Television division must be hitting rock-bottom; the only way I can explain the ridiculous price tags on their DJ products.

Long live Allen&Heath! They charge, but they deliver.

And what’s up with NI? Certify the DB4 already!

Seriously, XoneDB4 scratch certification was rejected from the DJ Division at NI, due to an apparent lower projection of Audio 10 DJ units being sold in the first 24 months if they did.

And here we have the second Pioneer mixer, not even available yet, but already certified. Come on NI, who are you trying to fool?! Will this not hurt your poor sales figures even more!

Looks like NI is now in cahoots with Pioneer. Looks like Pioneer is feeding NI heaps of cash in return for a dirty back-door exclusivity agreement, probably also demanding the DJM900 be the only 4-channel certified mixer for the next year or two. I hope A&H takes this to court.

I cannot help but feel NI is deliberately preventing us from buying the DB4. I would even go as far to say the DB4 soundcard outperforms both AudioDJ and Pioneer, yet we still have to fork out more cash after we bought a DB4, because NI won’t allow us to scratch with it. What a f-ing joke!

Pioneer will get the DJM-T1 into every bedroom, and the DJM900 into every club, just like they did in the past, not because of the outstanding quality (quite the contrary) but because they buy themselves in, and if not that they discount themselves in. I will boycott Pioneer as long as I live.

    Pretty disappointed with NI too.

  • Shinobidj

    This is a bullshit product

i got the behringer DDM4000 4 channel its the shit and it only costed me $520 ATER TAX AND SHIPPING i have never bought a pioneer product, i will use Americian audio, behringer, numark Denon. and i dont think any club owner would by this product whe all they reallt need to do is spend roughly the same aount for the DJM2000 which does all the same shit anyway. this product was definately a waste of time, effort and money on pioneers part. epic fail… please try agian

how hard is it to update the 909 with midi, a larger touchscreen and a soundcard (TSpro, not DUO)

seriously traktor and pioneer dropped the ball on this mixer. still waiting for a legitimate battle mixer with traktor integration. guess im going to have to wait. jerks.

they should have gotten opinions from craze, shiftee, rafik, and oh yeah, qbert. pioneer is just a bunch of fatcat retards.

good concept but poorly executed. I still rock the 909 even when i go to a club, i prefer to use the 909 whenever possible. I think pioneer should modernize the 909. make the touch screen a little bigger and have midi out option like they have with the djm 2000. They all ready have the technology just adapt it to the 909. I think the 909 has been one of the best 2 channel mixers to come out. hopefully somebody from pioneer would look at all these comments and maybe change there minds about releasing this product at all

Pioneer are cheeky arseholes way too up themselves. They recently decided to start putting out studio monitors for the FIRST time. DOUBLE the price of same specs mackie and yamaha industry tried and tested monitors. They put the crazy prices because idiots keep buying this overpriced stuff. Its all down to ‘labels’ just another apple.

Price is absolutely ridiculous but usually the price is reduced when it’s actually sold in retail stores. The price is usually set to set the perception of the value and “quality” of the product during these shows. Be patient about the price but like others have said, there’s really nothing innovative about the mixer minus a few technological upgrades. I doubt people are switching out their old mixers for this, it’s more for newcomers to the industry

    • Mike Prestage

Newcomers and perhaps DJ’s who are still spinning vinyl and thinking of going digital? This would be all the need to get going + a couple of timecode. Just trying to figure the logic in this mixer

Looks nice, however $2000!! I can not justify that when I do not see anything on this mixer that external sound cards, various other mixers and the X1 can do. I guess it does bundle them all together but for now I would rather get an S4 or another X1.

    I would like to see a pimped 909 with…
    – color display
    – build-in SSL sound-card
    – HDMI out with build-in video mixing processor (hardware based encoder, no need for high-end laptop) for Video-SL
    – midi functions
    – an extra subwoofer output (2.1) with an active frequency filter
    – 0% hissing noise
    – faceplates with different layouts
    – LED meter like on a DJM800 & color option like “white, blue, standard” plus dim function would be nice)
    – firmware upgradeable
    – profile option to save customization options.
    – wifi connection, build-mini router (no need for usb wire)
    – quantize
    – headphone limiter (Very Important!!!)
    – speaker calibration option with white-noise,
    – BPM counter for each deck with higher resolution (like 124.51)
    – bad-ass look 😉

i forgot…. i would like my name on it.

Wow. What the hell were they thinking? Putting the mic & AUX inputs on the front panel.. I’d have the Denon DNX-1600 or DNX-600 instead for that crappy price Pioneer put out. Or I’d just stick with with my TTM57 instead.

Is it just me or is Pioneer smoking crack !

Who the hell is creating these inflated price points? ($2000 ? WTF?)

  • Habito506

    bad pioneer bad!!!!

  • RubixDigitales

The 57 is almost 6 years old now which in this fast moving dvs market seems like a lifetime. This is a bit of a lack-lustre response by pioneer to try and compete.

They have however taken on a few Rane ideas on board such as the magnetic crossfader and having a regular kettle plug input into an internal power supply which a both neat innovations. I do like that it has designated buttons and knobs for control over the software rather than having the annoying ‘scenes’ which the 57 has. The difference in the layouts between the Rane ttm57 and the Pioneer DJM-T1 really illustrate the different approaches I think strikes at the heart between the two companies. Pioneer has always liked to put loads of knobs sliders and switches onto their mixers a lot of which hardly ever get used. Rane on the other hand have always offered a stripped down all of the features you need and none of the crap you don’t approach which has always made their mixers (in my opinion) a lot more intuitive.

What I REALY don’t like on the DJM-T1 is the fact that you can’t assign the phono inputs to either being phono OR line like you can with the 57. Basically you’re stuck on each channel with a turntable and a CD player rather than having the option of having two CD players rigged to the one channel or 2 turntables into the one channel or any other combination. It’s really sad to see that this is missing as it is so cheap and easy for them to put in a switch to bypass the internal phono… sigh.

  • sebastiannz

*pats his Kontrol S4 and macbook pro*, 4 decks, tonnes of effects and heaps of quality music. No need to worry about buying expensive mixers – can leave that to the poor club owners!

  • RobE

I can’t imagine that the R&D costs of this were that high given pioneer’s history of making digital mixers, the fact that midi functionality is pretty simple to add and that they can use the soundcard technology developed for their other products. Other companies such as denon and ecler also make high quality products but know they can’t get away with charging similar prices ’cause they dont have the ‘pioneer’ name. Pioneer can get away with charging a lot for their high end cdjs and club install mixers because they are ‘industry standard’, but this is a different matter. I can’t see too many bedroom or club djs buying this given the expense and the reality that no club is gonna have it. I won’t deny that pio geer is built to last, but they’re still charging £300 EACH for their most basic CD player, the 100. WTF?! £1000 for a pair of the cdj-350s! Basic ‘beginner’ stuff with zero features, I mean is anyone actually buying this stuff?

  • Meyou

this thin does not have ANY on board effects!

    and they want $1899??

  • Anonymous

Wow! I love Pioneer but it seems the price tags just keep increasing. I am in love with my Traktor S4!

  • JuanSOLO

I got really excited when I first saw this, I am totally looking for a battle style mixer with extra knobs and buttons, Traktor friendly, in a sweet ergonomic layout. I wish it had dedicated filter knobs, plus bigger and better hot cue buttons. Then I read the basics of what it seems to be missing, as DoubleDutchdj put it,
    “Cross fade curve “SWITCH”?
    No line fade curve control?
    No PGM reverse?
    No FX send/return loop?”

Then I saw the price, DAMN!

    • JuanSOLO

WAIT it does have the Cross Fade curve switch, but the price is still NUTS!

  • D-Jam

Yeah…the price is high compared to TSD with a simple 2-channel Pioneer Mixer. Even TSD with a Pioneer 909 is cheaper. They should have at least put four channels on this mixer and made it for the guys who want to use four channels on Traktor.

  • Mark Murder

I got an Ecler Evo 5 for $1500. It is traktor scratch certified, digital sound card, awesome midi control and fx, and 4 (5 with mic channel) switchable inputs. And it came out like 2 years ago.

  • Christopher Crayon White

I have to agree with nick on this. Too much money. I mean ok built in sound card. Really if they had this at a reasonable price i would say damn ok. But i mean Same price as a DJM 2000 almost? I would just get that. Midi map the touch interface to use with traktor AND ableton.

what the fuck!! its a glorified 2 channel midi mixer (with soundcard) with fuck all adjustability and priced way out of the market!!

Seriously, feature wise, a BCD3000 gives this a good challenge for $300!!!

fuck pioneer you don’t have the slightest idea!

  • neXus.

Sorry Pioneer, you failed on this one, once a big fish in a small pond, now the pond has grown and there is a shit load more fish in it. Pioneer Fan-boys will eat this up, sadly i don’t think the majority of us will. For such a pivotal company in the past, they seem to lack what we need out of their products.

  • DJ PC3

Not gonna lie, this kit looks amazing. Full library control, effects, hot cues, loops, samples… I don’t think there is a better battle mixer for Traktor out there (even though they are missing some basic curve controle stuff)

    BUT

I can’t get over the price tag. Most people interested in the mixer already have traktor and I don’t know a club-owner who would install a two channel mixer (they’ll pick up the 900 nexus long before this)… so this would be primarily used for DJ’s personal set-up… and most wont drop 2Gs on this.

If denon comes out with a traktor certified 2-channel mixer with dedicated midi section, that would be the end of this…

      • DJ PC3

I understand where your coming from, and that mixer is on my short-lists of consideration, but its not “technically” traktor scratch certified (though I have heard it will work), and It does NOT have a dedicated midi sections for hot cues, loops, samples, etc…

I hope all you dj’s boycott this peice of shit product and send a message to them pricks. Why is todays Dj paying so much to Dj and making so little. Something is terribly wrong with this picture. Customers dont give a flying fuck what you play on just play their song. Wake up dj’s. Fuck pioneer!

  • Diego Mark Duran

Not worth the price. I’m in agreement with the post from above, if you are gonna make a TWO channel mixer for Traktor ::huge cough:: “SCRATCH” and not put BASIC battle features on it then try and pawn it off like its the greatest thing ever and charge that price. How much drugs do they think we’re on?!…. You can pay a few hundred more for a Rane sixty-eight, and a few hundred less for the 57. NI should have just made a deal with Vestax and built a sound card into the PMC05 pro-IV. That’s what this overpriced-underfeatured mixer should have been.

  • DoubleDutchdj

Wow what a huge let down, seems like Pioneer have said a massive FUCK YOU to scratch dj’s,

    Cross fade curve “SWITCH”?
    No line fade curve control?
    No PGM reverse?
    No FX send/return loop?

Seriously these are basic BASIC teeny tiny bread and butter features that would of easily made this a proper option for any scratch dj, a minimum 3 out of 4 of those should be on any battle mixer, so in a nut shell this obviously is NOT a battle mixer in ANY shape or form. Rane must be rolling around the floor in fits of laughter wondering why they were worried, there’s no way that this will effect 57sl sales.

Yes they answered the control flaws of the 57sl by adding decent well spaced Traktor controls, but they completely ignored the fundamental basics that make Rane an easy option for any sensible minded scratch jock. At least 8 out of 10 dj’s who buy 57 buy it as they 100% nails the basics, none of which exists on this over priced white elephant.

Pioneer made the right move by getting input from the Scratch Perverts to help them design the 909, sadly they largely got rejected buy a Scratch scene that at the time looked at the world threw Vestax tinted specs. Things have moved on now and this really could of been something very special. I’d love to own a battle mixer with all those Traktor controls on it, fucking love too, such a shame and massive opportunity missed. So on behalf of the scratch community I’d like to return the gesture, fuck you Pioneer FUCK YOOOOOOUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuu!

    • L.A. REHAB

In the picture of the front of the mixer it looks as if they have fader curve and control?

Yes indeed, but like I said “Cross fade curve “SWITCH”” and yes I did also see the cross fade reverse. PGM reverse refers to the function found on virtually every top flight battle mixer that swaps the line input fade’s.

Virtually every scratch dj I know is anal about there own personal curve and cut lag adjustment. All a switch gives you is a Pioneer preset with no room to fine tune to your own taste. rotary curve control is a must and cut lag adjust would be nice to! The very fact that they’ve developed a new magnetic xfade and added xfade reverse show’s there aiming this at scratch minded jocks but the bloody fools have forgot the basics, which is why the majority of scratch dj’s will snub this mixer.

The only reason I’m in rant mode is because gutted, this mixer would of suited my needs perfectly if it wasn’t for the lack of a few very basic OBVIOUS features. The more I look at it the more I’m gutted. Apart from the lack of loop recorder/player controls I think Pioneer have nailed the layout, giving enough controls without over crowding and keeping a clutter free fade area. I’d put any money that like the 909/707 before, this is designed to withstand more punishment than it’s more expensive siblings. So in many ways I except the price for the fact it’s a case of you get what you pay for in build quality and longevity but at that price it really should also be fully featured in basics I’ve mentioned. Yes the 57sl was a similar price when that was released but lets not forget Rane install “3” HQ magnet fades instead of just the one. I would still love to own this mixer but I could never consider spending that sort of money on something that doesn’t 98% match my perfect criteria, have you ever seen the rear of a top flight mixer look so bare and empty!

      • Sinjintek

yes, that would be the switches doubledutch was referring to…as in: no finite control over the actual cut time and fade of your fader blend. a basic feature that no 2ch. mixer should ever be without… however without curve control, line reverse and program reverse this is certainly not a battle class mixer that is capable of several techniques that a ‘tablist may use.

this should have been a 707 with interface and the midi surface control, then it could be a REAL contender against the 57. will it sell? sure, on name alone.. fanboys eat that shit up.

btw, a 707 (if it were available) and TSP2 (not Duo) combined would be well below this pricepoint…the addition of midi controls does not justify the price difference (now toss in the loss of quality analog features..the aforementioned as well as FX send/return, meaning this mixer is also most likely incapable of post-fader effects).

    • Pooface

Wow what a huge let down, seems like Pioneer have said a massive FUCK YOU to scratch dj’s,

      Cross fade curve “SWITCH”?
      No line fade curve control?
      No PGM reverse?
      No FX send/return loop?

Answer- you can do all this on the traktor software you dumb fuck!

    • Dj Neckcutter

I have the DJM909 and love it!

I wish someone would make it again with some Traktor/Serato control built in though but until then I’ll just use a separate midi controller

    • David

DMC world champion DJ Shiftee used this mixer in the competition.

  • Cippo

    what a shit!

  • Joseph Naeger

ed paris – holy shit…. im was just about to say “make a 4 channel and im in”……when i saw your post. glad we are on the same wavelength brother.

  • E-cube

I don’t see clubs installing this over the djm 900

    • WillBlaze

AND you can add an Innofader Pro and still save $700.

  • JB

Once again another over priced “me too” product from Pioneer. $2K is way too much money for this mixer even if it comes in on the street at $1300 still too much. You can get a Denon DN-X600 + X1 for $800 and do a whole hell of a lot more. Thank god people are starting to get smart to their price gouging ways….

    • WillBlaze

I think that’s why NI won’t certify the X600. It’s the same as the 1700 and 1600 so why not certify it. I agree a 600 with a X1 and/or a Midi Fighter is a better deal and you still come out a $1000 ahead.

  • Spencer "Thunderball" Thayer

This is clearly marketed for the uber pro DJ and rich kids. I hope they only manufactured around a thousand of em cause I can’t imagine they will sell more than that.

ALSO, does this post feel like a copy and pasted press release to anyone else?

  • Anonymous

The MSRP is $1900, but the MAP should be a lot less. The TTM57SL released at an MSRP of $1800, so this is pretty close.

Everybody had the same complaints about the price of the 57SL, but people still bought it. Honestly, I want to see what the faders are all about, but I wouldn’t mind picking up a DJM-T1.

Most people I see still only rock two decks. And honestly, some people who play on 4 sound like they should refine their skills on 2 decks first. I think the market for 2 channel mixers is still alive and kicking.

Only time will tell…hopefully nobody buys it so it will allow me to pick one up at a discounted price in the near future…

    • BJS

They already got the price completely and utterly wrong, what makes you think they’ll get the discount right?

      • Anonymous

Even if they don’t get the MAP right…the reality is that this mixer will probably still sell. The CDJ2000, DJM2000,and HDJ2000 are all completely overpriced in my opinion, but I still see them out in the world…the same will probably apply to the Nexus and the DJM-T1…

I, just as much as anyone, would like to see a lower price on these items. But if I was Pioneer, and if was still selling products even if they were overpriced, then I would definitely keep the same pricing policy with any products going forward.

Look at the DJM800…it’s MSRP is $2100, and the DJM909 MSRP is $1600. But these mixers sold pretty well..

      • Gavin

That’s how Pioneer always does it. MAP is always significantly less than the list price. Pioneer’s MAPs average about 20% less than the list price, which would make this about $1595 at retail.

    • Will Marshall

4 channel mixers aren’t necessarily for 4-deck mixing. They can support more DJs and more equipment at the same time.

We use all the channels on a Xone 92 at outdoor gigs locally, just to get all the equipment and laptops connected.

    • DJ PC3

I agree but the 57SL came with Video SL (a $200 value)… more importantly though is that DJs need to speak with the walets and just purchase it if they think its over-priced, pro guys who have consistent gigs will have no hesitation buying this.

No gonna lie, I want it, I just wish Denon had a dedicated “midi” section on their mixers…

      • Anonymous

Unless something’s changed, I don’t think VideoSL comes with the 57. You still have to pay $200 for it…

          • Anonymous

It actually doesn’t…the 57SL (and the Sixty Eight) can do video switching without an external midi controller, and you can download the demo, but you still have to pay $200 for the VideoSL plugin…

          • DJ PC3

Lol, I am telling you it DOES include it. I just bought the Rane TTM57SL for the DJ company I am in and it included the Video SL (which was we bought it in the first place) trust me…

          • Anonymous

You must’ve gotten a great deal on it. I called Rane to see if I could get a free copy because it is bundled (and I own 2 of them), and they said it has never been bundled with the 57 or 68…

So next question is…Who did you buy it from? Because I’ll refer to them if anybody I know wants to buy one…

          • DJ PC3

Yea we got a deal, it was from Guitar Center (the last place you think to get a deal and they “included” it, but as I look at my receipt we did “pay” for it they just took $150 off the mixer price

At Musikmesse, Denon’s programmer showed me a new Traktor Pro mapping for the DN-X1600 Midi mixer that controls basically everything in Traktor Pro – transport, effects, looping, hot cues…. they’re on it so expect something from them in this area soon.

    • Gavin

Yep. This will be priced right about where the TTM-57SL is and, even though it doesn’t have all the fader features that some deejays want, it blows the TTM-57SL out of the water when you look at the effects and control of the sample decks (I’d give up a little fader adjustability for those things all day long).

    • Erkron

Unfortunately these pioneer bastards, (excuse me they deserve it this time) take way too long to lower any price… when I first saw this it seemed interesting but the price really killed it all! you can actually buy an s4 and a macbook pro for this much, do 1000’s of more things, total realiabililty, better software, just to sum up it up.

  • José Polanco

Wow, how can pioneer justify the price point. You can get the DJM 900 for $99 more!

    • Gavin

The DJM900 is going to be $300-$400 more.

  • Nick

I stopped reading after $2000. Seriously?!

    • GUesT

Yeah! me too then I skipped to the comments..

  • Kevin Schrader

i tested it and its great but its too expensive

  • Virtualunknown

Really Pioneer is this a late April Fools Joke…Jokes on you. 2 channel for $2000 makes me ill. Makes the Novation look really good noW. F!@#$%^k

    • Virtualunknown

And the scary thing is we know there is a 4 channel lurking in the background waiting to rear its ugly overpriced head at 3000+

  • Mr Hasty

where the hell do they get off charging 2 grand for a 2 channel mixer with scratch duo (2 deck only)?!?! Pioneer needs to get a grip they are so high on themselves…

  • Epiphenomenon

More than a DJM-800? C’mon Pioneer! No way you’ll break in to the market that way!

  • Pavel Veter

Wait the similar device for $1000 from Denon.

    • Arionfrost

There is: It’s called a DN-MC6000, controls 4 decks and priced about $1200 below pioneer’s…

      /sarcasm

      • l0rdr0ck

The price premium funds Tsunami recovery. (sic)
A Denon X600 is closer, and itz 650 bucks

No way I would buy it!
It’s better to get a good audio interface and mix externally with an Analog mixer…

  • Audioedge

seriously who is going to buy this.. buy a nice 2 chan mixer, get traktor x1, traktor pro 2, audio 2 soundcard – virtually the same setup.

    • Anonymous

Right, but Jesus…. How much are you in after buying all that separate gear?!

A few things come to mind:

This thing is too damn expensive.
This thing will not be selling for $1800 long after its release.
This does have everything integrated nicely to no longer necessitate a mile of cables behind the setup.
Decent price for someone who doesn’t already have at least one of the things it has (mixer, soundcard, Traktor, controller), or is willing to replace their current setup entirely.

      • Justin Turner

It’s $650 now, but really, with the z2 why would anyone buy this?

        • Anonymous

It says Pioneer, doesn’t it? 😉

          • Justin Turner

but the z2 has a usb hub, innofaders, and it’s better designed for traktor. that, and it’s 4 deck where this is only 2 deck.

id ratherr just get a djm 900 and use my existing midi hardware

  • Guest

pioneer’ve priced themselves out of a hungry market

  • Ed Paris

i´d buy it for that price if it had 4 channels, but just 2? come on!

  • KLOSELINE

RRP 1,499 euros. as stated on Pioneer website

  • celzo

looks like Pioneer uses the same price calculation as Apple for there products..

    • Sinjintek

considering the mixer we’re speaking of.. that’s a seriously bad analogy.

    Can’t wait for its 4 channel version…

You could get a 4-channel A&H, an X1 and an Audio 6 for less than that. The price is a tad daft.

  • Matías J. Padilla

It’s nice to see big brands are finally embracing computer mixing fully.

  • Coldfuzion

Pretty cool, wish it was cheaper!
