I would like to see a whole range of modular component parts in the form of “Decks”, Mixers and FX Controllers.  I am always wanting to change my setup based on the environment. Most times when you play out its much easier to plugin to an existing mixer, so modular components allow me to have one setup at home and different setups depending on where I play.

Exelent mixer concept… things missing which i feel are very important though… VU METERS!!! a thing lacking on a lot of midi controllers… If not seperate channel and master VU’s, at least a master out VU. I dont like looking at my screen to check my levels…  Master gain knob… self explanatory… A nice added bonus would be some endless push rotaries on each side to play with loop lengths and other things that dont neccesarily have concrete data… Maybe if push rotaries are added, also an LED to display the current push state of the encoder.

Other than that… great mixer concept! Would be awesome to use with serato/bridge or with traktor pro 2’s sample decks

The company told Gizmo of Skratchworx that it will be around 49800 Yen. So, about $650…They claim it’s because they are a small team and have to do everything by hand per order…but c’mon, there’s not even an audio device!  That’s just a crazy price.  Unless the faders are the greatest I’ve ever felt, idk…

don’t mean to be hyper-critical but i do not see the unique concept actually. or maybe i don’t get the point.

talking about the price: if you are NOT using dvs and simple route analoge signals through your software you will need a decent soundcard, laptop, software and this thing… which will raise the price level into hights of reasonable quality analog mixers. well yes, you get effects for that…okay.

if you are using dvs than, alright…it’s internal mixing mode. So you will still need a soundcard as traktor scratch only supports NI products (don’t know about serato, my bad). Then this thing is just another midi controller offering faders, knobs and some buttons. plus the way this prototype is designed now it does not provide enough controls to use it as a all-in-one controller, so in reality it’s a limited and stripped-down device.

as some guys already mentioned, you can already do all of the thing shown in the video with an apc…nothing new.

as i wanna be positive…the overall concept could be something to find it’s niche on the market, integrate the midi-fighter into a battle mixer, maybe add a soundcard… like the s2 without jogs. but guess what: if you’ going for quality it won’t be as cheap as some of you guys are hoping for.

if this came out for around sub $350.  i would sell my S4 buy two turntables, get this thing, and go insane. its would bridge the gap for me (between analog and digital),  eliminating the reason i dont want to get turntables.

AWESOME SIMPLICITY. I would add 2 more rows of knobs though. If it was a real high quality build, (the APC40 being an example of mid poor quality), if it had high quality faders, a pro style cossfader, at least maybe the extra rows of knobs to be push button encoders, I would pay between 300-500 bucks, pending how things worked software wise. Any thing less, I would not pay over 200. 

It’s a GREAT idea, would love to see more things out like this, along with the K2.

love the concept, and it looks great, with a launch pad on top, but it would be hard for me to give up my Rane 57

BUT: Is this a mixer, or a controller? I only see the usb connected, so I suppose this has to be done all in internal mode?

200-300dollars? You guys know that a god xfader is in the market of 70-150dollars alone? Add to that soundcard, the missing knobs and LED’s and we have long crossed the 500 barrier. And even under 1000dollars it would be a good deal as long as its good tech. 

The question here is if its a real mixer with midi capability or just a midi controller. The later I gotta admit is not worth over 200dollars regardless of fader brand. 

maybe a couple of dedicated knobs for vol. control. And the ability to use it as a hybrid (controller and conventional mixer) would make it a killer piece of gear. 

It looks nice. Now, just wait for the price, see if it worth it

I like the buttons (classic Dj don’t need arcade one)
Doesn’t need sound card (most of Djs already have pro sound card)
I like the 2 channel concept

The controller miss:
-Vu-meters (for each channel & master)
-3 knobs at the top for monitoring/cue
-One more knob on each channel for filter
-multi layers with different led colors for each layer

For the price: it depends of the quality of the product…if it’s pro, solid…with the features I added, then something around 400€ for 2 channels

Would it possible to map the center row of buttons to light up as a VU meter?

DJTT should definately make an arcade Midifighter/mixer. It would be very convenient nestled between the cleavage of two turntables.

So strange, I’ve been drawing up ideas for something exactly like this in the last few weeks. I would pre-order right now if…

– LED feedback for knobs/encoders
– LED feedback for faders
– three more knobs for Master, cue, phone
– curve control for cross fader
– three distinct colors for pads
– soundcard
– two versions,: entry level two channel, and Pro version with four channels and morepads. Entry level would be between $200 – $300, pro between $400 and $500

ive notice or maybe its me that alot of bedroom djs are on here complaining about products and prices  they want everything to be 300  or lower and to do every thing a s4 or ns6 or vestac can do .. this is why pro besides me  look down apon dj controllers . because these guys bitch and complain about what the want and then the manufactures make these cheap toyish products .. i say this is a great idea 4 channels a be better a sound card thats compatible with serato scratch live and traktor and there you go a winner  pro level …. i have a midi fighter pro i dj at xs and rumor in las vegas and trust me i never the traktor s4 and the midi fighter i use never looks to anyone as a toy but numarks and all these other products do 

I would just make it a X1 with built-in sound card and mixer.
I would pay about $200-250 for it. Also, i would want arcade buttons or at least bigger buttons at the top. That’s really all that the x1 is missing. Mixer and  good buttons for beat juggling.
I would definitely be interested in a product like this.

I agree that VU meters are needed. How else are you to determine if you have any connection issues or if your next track will come in too loud?

Where are the turntables connecting? I see the USB cable coming from the mixer, but I do not see where or how the turntables interface with the rest of the setup. 

A minimal dedicated Low and High equalizer might be nice for times where you want to add a bit more kick to the bass or vocals.

An alternate MIDI Fighter special edition could space out the buttons and replace those tiny rubberized buttons that – if not placed right  – get caught under the faceplate when you are performing and hammering away at them in the heat of the moment. (I found this out the hard way after I bought my S4 and I mysteriously had my cue points keep playing after I let go of it.)

I’m hoping there is a curve adjustment available on all of the faders. Not everyone likes a slow curve. Some who do a lot of crab and transform scratches want the channel at full volume when the crossfader is merely less than a millimeter toward the opposite side. And please, NO CRAPPY 1970s Radio Shack FADERS! We want solid 45mm faders like what Skratchworx.com recommends (http://infiniumtechnologies.com/_catalog_50935/45mm_Faders). 

Um…yeah. That’s all I have for now until I actually have time to put some real thought in this.

That’s awesome. Like the look and the functionality. I think I’d go to $300 for that. Multi-layer functionality (like on the k2) would make this a game changer.

Would buy it direct if it cost half of the DJM-t1!

I would like to see 3 more knobs on the top for master, cue/mix, and phone vol, but that is not at all a deal breaker. This thing is awesome and is exactly what I have been looking for. With the right Traktor mapping, this could be an all in one controller perfect for house parties or the mobile DJ. I would pay no more than $200 for it. As stated by someone else, the APC 40 offers more controls and is a meager $250 (roughly), that said it is not nearly as ergonomic (for traktor/serato) as this controller. Also the X1 is clearly a direct competitor, and grossly over valued. If they released this for roughly the same price as the X1, well, bye bye X1. I think that $250 would be the price cap for me, and even then I would be hesitant. If they could make this a solid $200, consider it sold out. My main thought is keep the price down as much as possible. The market is flooded with all-in-one controllers that are too expensive, albeit high quality. Controllers that work well with the modular approach, like this one, if affordable, will destroy the competition.

APC 40 can do all of this and much more and willing to bet it would be cheaper
