What about tracks you have already set cues and beatgrids for in traktor, can you take those same files on the flash drive and will the cue points and beatgrids transfer over as well ?

can you use a 500gb hard rive in the xdj1000

I’ve been just using erase in disk utility (Mac) and formatting as FAT for a few years with my rekordbox USBs. What are the advantages of partitioning and formatting as OS X journaled instead?

  • CUSP

You could make one at the Tech Shop (or any place similar), it’s not that hard if you want to acid etch lexan, or use a laser etcher. It’s fun too.

Relied box is great and all if you don’t want to use a computer, but it lacks an overall customization on the viewport… this is the inherent advantage of a computer… even if that computer is a smart phone.

i love thinking about it tbh

I’m not very familiar with pioneer rekordbox system, is there any way i could send all my beatgridded and cued tracks from traktor to rekordbox without having to analyze/beatgrid them again?

    • andrew

There is a Mac app called RecordBuddy that has this functionality, although it a bit difficult to use. Look into it if you’re willing to follow some detailed instructions.

      • Carlos

Thanks alot, will check it 🙂

    • Buts

I think Rekord Buddy does this exactly. It isn’t free though and I don’t know whether it’s compatible with Rekordbox 3. Worth a Google though.

  • GuySaaaaaN!!

Recently, rekordbox 3.2.0 was released and it contains useful functions such as
secondary browser, show cue markers on the preview, and cue play without loading the track.
I made short video about 3.2.0.

The real question is, where the hell can I buy that pioneer flash drive?

    • Buts

These flash drives are basicly worthless. 16 GB and USB 2.0 for 49 USD. Sure, it looks (really) nice, but it seriously isn’t worth it.

      • Gio Alex (Tekit Izi)

YIKES! yeah that’s just ridiculous! You can buy solid 32GB flash drives for half of that. Usb 3.0 ones for like $30.

It’s really easy to make your own customized USB drive from just: the USB drive you like, a piece of plastic, your own logo, some epoxy glue, and an acid etching kit. The clear plastic cube doesn’t store any data, it’s decorative, and you can simply adhere or physically affix it on if you’re so inclined.

If you shop around, you can find a blinky LED on the (back/outside) part of the drive which can be used to light up the acid etched logo (because it’s opaque in an otherwise transparent object. Anyway, DIY is pretty fun, especially when you have something custom like this.
