Algoriddim, known for their djay Pro app, has been making major moves on the software front in 2020. In June, they shared a new update to their djay Pro AI app that let DJs isolate beats, instrumentals, and vocals in real time with their Neural Mix™ technology. Now, they’ve expanded this technology into a new standalone app: Neural Mix™ Pro for Mac.
Neural Mix™ Pro claims to be the first artificial intelligence-based music player and editor. A few features it boasts include:
- Offline Export – the ability to extract instrumentals and acapellas, compatible with your favorite DJ tool or DAW
- Loop Export – enabling you to extract samples or beat-matched loops of any instruments
- An AI Music Player – that lets you time-stretch, pitch-shift, and loop. You can also mute an instrument and play along.
The concept is simple, yes – but it’s also a significant step towards opening the door to broader capabilities in using AI to create and edit music. It’s an interesting approach by Algoriddim to create this as a stand-alone app since the technology already exists in their djay software, so we’re curious to see how well this takes off.
Neural Mix™ Pro is currently built for Macs only, and is now available for download from Apple’s App Store. The base version is free, but you’ll need to pay $50 to upgrade to the full version in order to export any audio.
