Beatport is making the leap into the world of iOS with the release of their new mobile app for Beatport LINK users. It’s yet another step to grow the Beatport LINK ecosystem of DJ tools, with the intention of making an artist’s music searching, buying, prepping, and playing flow even easier. Now, with a Beatport LINK subscription, you can utilize the service on your phone, via Beatport DJ’s web app, or through any of its integrations (i.e. Traktor PRO, Serato DJ, and Pioneer DJ).
The iOS app currently allows you to create and manage playlists, as well as provides a “mobile-friendly” way of digging for tracks. An Android version of the Beatport app is expected to be released later this year, along with new features to come in iOS updates down the road.
Robb McDaniels, Beatport’s CEO, explained:
“Over the last two years we have been relentless in our mission to develop products that empower our customers. Beatport LINK is the centerpiece of our strategy to give our customers the ability to stream the richest collection of electronic music available anywhere. This new mobile app is an important extension of the LINK platform, giving DJs the ability to discover new music, assemble and perfect performance-ready setlists and transition them directly into their native environments. It’s a hugely powerful tool that our customers have been asking for and one which we think they are going to love.”
But wait, there’s more: a rebrand for Beatport
As the mobile app was released earlier this week, Beatport also announced a brand refresh in collaboration with design firm Kurppa Hosk. This app release is now the first product to feature Beatport’s new brand logo, standing as the first brand redesign for the company since 2012.
Give the app a shot and let us know what you think. You can download it on the Apple App Store for free.
