Some things they are good at, some things they are crap at - its all about using them for what they are best for. Its like all any control out there, some things do some things better than others. Like how volume faders are best for volume and the crossfader is best for cross fading each interface is best for doing a different thing

windows did a project like this also, for the family thing, have a tactile table computer is fun, fast..... but mannnnn i need to touch and turn every fuckin sens this sensibles buttons, i need to feel thems between my delicate and crazy fingers..... oh godd give me more sensation that what i need......... a contact to make me feel better than ever.....
oh god... where is my controllers, i need to do something now.....

Touchscreen knobs are superior to real knobs in the fact that you can skip to any skip to points along the knob way - you cant do that with a knob.

I like the idea of the touchscreen knobs if you needed to attach a physical knob to it, like those musicians who were performing music by dropping magnetic boxes on a touch screen.

dunno. Once we figure out how to implement it all together in a logical fashion we'll be able to really blow this shit up
