Shipping and Warehouse Clerk

Location: Brisbane, CA.

Job Description: We are seeking for a warehouse/shipping clerk for a small (~1500 sq ft) warehouse. This person will fulfill all outgoing orders and manage all incoming product, along with any related duties. Quick, accurate shipping and smooth operation of our warehouse is key to the success of our business and our customers’ satisfaction. Experience is preferred but not necessary – we will train an individual with the right attitude and work ethic. We are a very small team so while the primary duty is shipping and receiving, others may be added according to interest and ability.

Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 /hour

Job Type: Full-time

Testimonial

Our current warehouse clerk is moving out of state soon and shared some thoughts about the job:

I love the independence of this job. I’m free to make my own schedule, both within the work day and for long term projects, as long as the work gets done and orders are shipped on time.

I feel listened to and appreciated in this company. If I have an idea, the team (including CEO) listens to it and even if it’s not implemented my opinion is valued or starts a larger discussion.

There’s interesting gear to ship – always a variety of products and we hear consistently great feedback about them, which gives me a sense of satisfaction.

Our customers are really cool! They tend to be young, fun and laid back music types who love our company and are easy to work with if an issue comes up. In return I have a lot of freedom to give them little freebies, etc. to make their experience better.

It’s been really fun being a part of product development and being the first to see the new product samples come in. The new person can grow into the role of helping manage and develop new products for the company as I have in my time here.

Responsabilities

The shipping clerk will be in charge of carefully picking, packing, and shipping every single order. We sell many items with very small differences and variations, so attention to detail is key. You’ll also get to inspect and test our gear before shipping to ensure it’s working properly. Orders ship worldwide via FedEx and USPS, and customs documentation must be correct to prevent delays.

You’ll reorder products and supplies as needed, and will also be responsible for receiving incoming product and confirming that quantities and items in each shipment match the packing slip. Items should be stored in their proper locations to keep the warehouse clean and tidy.

Periodically, inventory counts in the warehouse must be done and any discrepancies need to be investigated.

As with any store, customers sometimes return products which you will inspect for condition and completeness. Occasionally shipping mistakes are made, and delays or problems out of our control will happen. You’ll work directly with customers via email in a timely and professional manner to resolve these.
