Berlin-based developers Zerodebug released touchAble 2 for iPad last November (read our review of the software here), which was widely considered to be one of the best low-cost options for Ableton controllers on a touch device. Today they’ve put out a new version of the app for iPhone/iPod Touch users, touchAble Mini, which offers a very similar intuitive feature set to the larger sister app.
touchAble Mini allows for direct access to Live 9’s library, and integrates into most Ableton workflows seamlessly with control over MIDI clip editing, session view, devices, VSTs, instruments, mixing controles, and more. The app needs to have a server application running alongside Ableton live to connect to, which can handle an unlimited number of touchAble clients – as many iPads, iPods, and iPhones as you’d like can be connected to Ableton.
Zerodebug’s new app (available here on the iTunes Store for $9.99 / €21,99) is thankfully very-backwards compatible on Apple’s smaller smart devices, claiming to work on iPhone 3Gs and above, running at least iOS 5. You’ll also need Ableton Live 8.3 or later.
