If your a Traktor Pro user, keep your eye on the service center for a free update coming your way soon. Its a big improvement that smooths out a few bugs and adds important functionality. Read on for the full scoop.
Here is a list of the improvements you can expect in this update:
- New “Advanced Relative Mode” (skip-to-start and zero sticker drift for vinyl, search and loop button support for CD decks)
- High-Resolution 14 Bit MIDI support
- New Z-Plane Elastique V2.1 time-stretching algorithm
- Improved Interface/Controller Setup Wizard (for basic setup- not advanced midi mapping)
- New “Manual” clock mode for manual assignment of master and slave deck
- Improved master clock tracking of deck tempo (8x increase)
- Synchro Start
- Adjustable pitch bend sensitivity
- Modifiers for keyboard mappings
- New 10% tempo slider range to match native range of various CD decks (CDJ etc.)
- Option to remove Traktor-specific tags from music files
- Option to physically delete tracks in browser
- New “History Archive” browser node
The pitch bend adjustment is a major improvement that will bring Traktor pro one step closer to prime time status. The others are all nice features that make your life easier but not as critical. Don’t get too excited about the 14 bit midi support for now as it appears to be just for faders and not jog wheels but its a good step in the right direction. The most important update will be behind the scenes as Native continues to improve the back end and eliminate the pesky bugs that normally plague .0 releases. The same thing happened to versions 2 and 3, and with each new software release it always takes a few months before everything gets just right.
