At what point does a certain number of pads become overkill for a finger drumming routine? In this video from Tony Beatbutcher, he combines three Ableton Push units and a Korg Nanokontrol 2 for a routine. Is it too much, or should he add a few more controllers into the mix? Watch below:
In the video, Tony doesn’t make that much use of the fact that he has 192 pads in front of him (three sets of 64). When you only have two hands, it starts to become pretty difficult – but the two side Pushes seem to be instruments, while the middle one is being used for triggering samples.
What would you do with 192 pads in front of you for a 3 minute routine? Let us know in the comments.
