In addition to showing off the Orbit, Numark has also updated a number of their products to bring them into 2013. This primarily means a cosmetic upgrade to the knobs and adding prominently placed pads that make the controllers fit in amongst offerings from Vestax and Gemini. What It’s Got: More pads! A good replacement of hard plastic buttons.

The sentiment at NAMM 2013 seems to be very much “let’s throw some pads into our controller!” but in the case of Numark, it’s likely a wise refresh to their most successful products. The NS7 and Mixtrack Pro were both great successes that put Numark solidly into the controller game. Serato DJ announced this evening that the Mixtrack Pro II is now compatible with Serato DJ – so if you’ve magically found yourself with a unit, you can go ahead and download the new version of the software here.
