We’ve kicked things off with our coverage of NAMM 2016 (follow along on Instagram or see all of articles here), and one of the more interesting announcements came from Numark, who are showing off a new accessory product, the Numark Dashboard. It’s designed to give DJs a quick heads-up display of Serato DJ, and remove the issues that come with Serato Face. Keep reading for specs and our first impressions.
Numark Dashboard= The NS7III Screen Array, Solo
- DJ Gear: Numark Dashboard
- Manufacturer: Numark
- Price: $399
- Availability: Q2, 2016
If you’ve kept an eye on Numark, you might have noticed that they’ve released this accessory product specifically targeted for NS7II users in the past. But Numark had the bright idea to take the add-on display unit and make a few changes to allow it to be sold to any Serato DJ user with a bit of tweaking. It’s turned out pretty well – and for many DJs who are too focused on their laptops, particularly DVS users, this could be a big win.
The Numark Dashboard has a rotatable base stand, allowing it to be oriented differently depending on the bit of gear that it’s in front of. As with the NS7III screen setup, there’s a track deck display on each side, and the middle section is for browsing and selecting tracks, as well as displaying the waveforms when the browser is closed.
There’s also a USB hub on the back with two powered USB ports – someone at Numark has been reading my list of innovations that need to be commonplace on DJ hardware.
Below, watch an overview of the NS7III Screen Array’s features on the displays – which have the same interface and layout as this new Numark Dashboard product.
