Griffin Technology, the company behind all kinds of Mac and iOS accessories, has teamed up with Algoriddim to make a low-cost monitoring soundcard for mobile DJs. Comparable in size to the Traktor Audio 2, the new DJConnect has two audio outputs, a 1/8th inch headphone jack and a pair of RCA outputs on the rear. The soundcard connects to devices via one of three included cables: mini USB to Apple Lightning connector, mini USB to Apple 30-pin connector, and mini USB to USB.
The most prominent physical feature on the DJConnect is a large metal (stainless steel?) knob that’s a callback to Griffin’s PowerMate line – a single flat knob that could be mapped to any control on a Mac. On the DJConnect, this knob provides access to volume control.
An important thing to note is that since the DJConnect works on iOS, it has to be a class-compliant audio device, meaning that it should be usable by software beyond the advertised djay and vjay applications. Check out the introduction/promo video below:
The DJConnect is available now on Griffin’s site for $99.99
