Have you used the desktop version of DJay Pro for Mac or iPad and wished for the same functionality on your iPhone? Algoriddim just launched a new iPhone application that brings more pro features seen only on Mac/iPad versions of their djay software. Keep reading for their thinking and the launch details.
Algoriddim, djay, and iOS
Algoriddim is no stranger to the iOS world – for the last few years, their DJay application has consistently been the most popular iOS DJ software, amassing a total of 20 million downloads and 2 Apple Design Awards. They even demoed a version of their software at the new Macbook Pro launch event
Their new software brings much of the features seen on their flagship DJay Pro into a more portable form.
Karim Morsy, the CEO of Algoriddim, notes:
“djay Pro has been a huge hit on Mac and iPad […] iPhone 7 has enabled us to completely transform the user experience of djay Pro by using haptic feedback and 3D Touch. [the new djay Pro on iPhone 7s] provides unique haptic feedback on its high definition waveforms so users can literally feel the beats while scratching and scrubbing the music.
[with 3D touch] users can precisely set a cue point without having to lift up their finger while interacting with the waveforms.”
Features On iPhone’s djay
Other features coming to iPhone for the first time ever in an Algoriddim app include:
- 4-deck control
- inbuilt video mixing (previously, there were sold two separate apps: djay and vjay)
- Spotify library integration (see our review of this feature on Mac)
- a host of accessibility features designed to help visually impaired users utilize the program to its fullest:“users can tap any button or slider in djay Pro for iPhone to hear a description of what it does, its state, and how to operate it through their headphones, independent of the mix that is playing through the main speakers”. For iPhone 7 users, “Visual cues such as beat markers and bars are encoded into haptic feedback so visually impaired users are able to perceive the information as if they were seeing the visual waveform of the audio.”
The new djay Pro 1.0 for iPhone is available now on the iTunes App Store for $4.99 for a limited time (will go up to $9.99 after this launch special).
