It has been a few years since we’ve seen anything new come out of Rane, one of the most well-known DJ mixer manufacturers that has stayed prominent since their first DJ mixer back in 1986 (it was the MP 24, designed for a disco sound designer, Richard Long). Rane is today announcing two new mixers – an upgrade to a product that many thought was defunct, the TTM57 MKII, and the first mass-produced rotary mixer we’ve seen in years, the MP2015. Read on to learn more about both.
Name: TTM57 MKII
Manufacturer: Rane
Available: Now in the DJTT store
Price: MSRP $2199 – with a lower expected street price TBD
In A Nutshell: Dual soundcards for back-to-back switchups and integrated advanced Serato DJ control
The new TTM57MKII follows up on one of the best-selling DJ mixers of the digital era, which brought Serato to prominence for club and mobile DJs around the world. In fact, the only reason the original mixer finally began being phased out by Serato with the Serato DJ DVS launch a year ago was due to the aging soundcard connection (it used USB 1.0). Rane’s press release isn’t exgaggerating when they speak to a “cult-like following” of the mixer – we’ve heard consistently from DJs who are avoiding the Serato DJ software entirely because they love their 57 so much.
The new TTM57 MK2 keeps the same design as the original, adding a set of dual USB 2.0 audio/MIDI ports (it’s class compliant too, meaning that it should work with iOS devices). The two soundcards mean that DJs can quickly and easily swap in a back-to-back setup, with each of the two input channels switchable to either soundcard. Each soundcard has 10 record and 10 playback channels with sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, and 96 kHz.
You can also use the soundcards as FX inserts, meaning that Serato DJ’s iZotope FX can be applied to the channels in the mix. There’s an AUX channel that allows routing of Serato’s SP-6 sampler, and there are sweep filters on all three channels (1, 2, and AUX).
Most noticeably, there’s new RGB-backlit silicone pads (a drastic upgrade from the plastic circle cues on the original 57) which correspond to the colors of cue points in the Serato DJ software.
We’re really excited for this new mixer – and we think that it will be a new standby for mobile DJs and scratch DJs, much like its predecessor.
Name: MP2015
Manufacturer: Rane
Available: Now in the DJTT store
Price: $3,499 MSRP with an expected lower street price
In A Nutshell: Rotary DJ mixers are back.
A NAMM surprise that almost no one was expecting, Rane is releasing one of the first new rotary mixers that we’ve seen a major manufacturer put out in a long, long time. The new mixer represents a modern take on rotary – incorporating 3-way swept filters (selectable between LP, HP, or a combo – with steep 24dB/octave slopes), a 3-band main mix isolator with adjustable crossover points, a Submix bus for multitrack mixing (can group any number of inputs to be together and control them with one set of controls – or alternately it can be switched to another input channel).
At the same time, the MP2015 mixer also has a digital side to it – with dual 24-channel USB soundcards that allow for the connection of two computers. The ports are class compliant, meaning no drivers are require on OSX, and there’s a new high-performance ASIO driver for Windows users. Each soundcard supports 10 playback and 14 recording channels – meaning that even Ableton Live users might see an advantage to using this mixer in a DJ capacity.
It helps that the mixer looks great as well – with a US-made all steel chassis, an extra thick front panel for durability, wood side panels with the Rane logo laser-etched on it, and classic spun-aluminium knob caps.

[…] Since NAMM 2015, Rane has been teasing the TTM57 MKII which will fight to replace its predecessor as the next go to mixer for turntablists. Skratch Bastid is the focus of Serato’s latest routine video which shows him cutting up NXWXRK by Nadus and using the mixer’s effects to build a rhythmic remix of the song. […]
I purchased the Rane MP 2015 two weeks ago when only two units came into NYC’s Rock and Soul store in midtown and I got the second one within 24 hours after they both arrived. It should be the last mixer I ever need. High end quality start to finish with such versatility that I am still learning on how to “work it.” I waited 15 years to get a new, rotary mixer just like this with built in iso. It is expensive but if it lasts at least 15 years, it is money well spent.
Can’t wait to hear the mixes on the MP2015
It looks like “$3,499 MSRP with an expected lower street price” for the MP 2015, translates to a street price of €3650 in the Netherlands. How’s that possible with a conversion rate of 1$ to €0,87? http://www.bax-shop.nl/dj-mixer/rane-mp2015-rotary-mixer
Same for Germany, as well. USA: MAP $2899. Germany: Street price 3399€. WTF???
Yeah, I saw this price at Thomann. I understand import tax and shipping costs but a € 837 markup for EU customers is pretty hefty. Maybe Rane can explain?
I would not blame tax + shiping for the higher price because Rane’s (and Pioneer’s, etc.) other mixers do have the same price in $ and € (or even lower in €!).
Pioneer DJM-900nxs: $1997 / 1899€*
Rane Sixty Two: $1999 / 1999€*
Rane Sixty Four: $2199 / 1929€*
Rane Sixty Eight: $2599 / 2399€*
So this makes no sense at all:
Rane MP 2015: $2899 / 3399€*
*Prices checked at AGIPRODJ / Thomann.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining about a premium price for a premium product. I just feel getting ripped off due to this uncommon / cloudy “markup” in the EU.
Well, I’ve checked with Rane and they don’t understand this pricing either. Thing is that dealers can ask whatever they want (MAP). What I find really strange is that these dealers advertise MSRP’s (€4154 and €4416,50) that are way higher than Rane’s MSRP. At least in the Netherlands there are laws against this, since it’s simply misleading. I’ve asked Bax for clarification.
So there’s a good chance they will adjust the price as soon as the product is available. Rane’s german distributor has no official prices on his website, too. Let’s hope 🙂
And what did bax tell you? I got a response from them that the price difference was due to sales tax. When i corrected them on that one they stopped replying. I can’t imagine these flying of the shelves at this price point. I’ve got halve a mind to bring one home next time i fly to the us.
2-channel version, 10″ wide x 14″ high, with dual USB that is Serato DJ Club Kit supported. Build it and they will come.
Don’t forget a sub channel!
I would be super down for that. It would be like an Empath Rotary on steroids!
When you think about it though, Sub Mix Channel really isn’t necessary with only two channels. Two channels are easily managed with a simple pair of channel 1/channel 2 buttons and a single wet/dry knob. With four channels though I agree that a Sub Mix is needed to manage all those channels at once.
Not sure how original post got screwed up and made as “Guest”, but here is the corrected one.
Where I can find this?
This is just a concept I rendered up in hopes someone from Rane is paying attention. The reality I’m guessing is that 99% of DJs only mix two sources at a time, so a 4-channel mixer is just overkill for a lot of DJs who would rather just have a less expensive 2-channel version of the MP2015 that has a smaller, more compact chassis footprint with the controls spaced out a bit more comfort. Dual USB sound card that is both Serato and NI supported too. Real estate is also opened up because no need for SUB MIX like MP2015 has since only 2 channels need to be managed at a time, not 4. With enough interest and feedback from market to Rane hopefully they’ll address this want/need.
Thanks for reply [O/][iii][O/] …
This is exactly what i need. I’m looking for a two channel rotary mixer for a long time and I don’t have money to afford on N77. Omnitronic has withdrawn it from the market due to unsolvable humming issues. So this is everything We need.
…
…x
Omnitronic
No sweat. FYI though incase you weren’t aware, The N77 was discontinued some time ago due to some manufacturing issues I was told by my SuperStereo contact. They have instead been focusing effort on their DN78 instead. Regardless, neither of those mixers, or other boutique offerings such as E&S’s DJR 400 offer a built-in, high-end dual-USB soundcard like Rane is which is essential for a lot of DJs like myself who use certain software systems alongside fellow DJs using them as well. As a Serato DJ and Native Instruments Traktor user, the flexibility this adds can’t be overstated.
PS: The Omnitronic TRM-202 someone posted earlier isn’t even in the same ballpark, but decent for an entry-level budget 2-channel rotary. That being said, from what I understand it has been discontinued as well.
Can you render up a 19” version?!
[…] DJ Tech Tools writes, “We’re really excited for this new mixer – and we think that it will be a new standby for mobile DJs and scratch DJs, much like its predecessor.” […]
Quite Honestly — The Idea of Digial Rotary Mixer at the cost of a Analogue rotary mixer … just sort of proves what type of Marketplace we are living in. Not that this is a bad thing. What needs to be learned of the device is how it breaks down and compares to similar sound cards(basically) in performance and flexability. Behringer can come along and stick a sound card and some rotary knobs in a wood case … < just food for thought. So any market support that a product like this gathers should be considered food to feed that beast as well. Id like to see a comparison between similar Iconic analogue rotarys and this product to see what the strong and weak points are and hopefully that information would be forwarded to rane before they roll out any number of these .
Also — being a rane digital mixer. Why would the mp2015 not have serato capability … would that cheapen the facade/
Just wait for the sucka djs to buy it new retail, a few months later they need the money and will sell it on ebay for less
Hey Rane, this looks like a Digital Mixer… Not even one word in the press release about “A Class” or “Pure Analog” or “Headroom”, “Capacitors”, etc. Is this a digital mixer?
To me, a Rotaray Mixer that enters the League of Rotary Mixers is an A Class pure analogue product. Not a digital gadget wraped with a sexy vintage chassis…
Hey friend.. This is a digital mixer. The best digital mixer available and, in my opinion, the best mixer on the planet. There is no way to do what can be done here with an analog mixer. I look forward to this getting out to all the major clubs and hearing everyone’s feedback. There is no doubt in my mind that once people hear the audio quality and power behind this unit the analog vs. digital debate will be null in void. This mixer is that good.
I may believe you. I’ll give her a test asap and see!
Rane made a good design job anyway here, but again I feel a bit sceptic about the emotions that the mixer will bring me or not when I’ll teak her knobs.
Of course, people will love it and find it by far superior, when you see what are nowadays standards…
Looking forward hearing it anyway.
BTW crappy LED bars behaviour isn’t it?
The first units are shipping out tomorrow:) You’ll hopefully be able to tweak her knobs soon!
I’m not sure what you’re referring to: “BTW crappy LED bars behaviour isn’t it?”
Why wouldn’t they put track load encoder somewhere on the mixer, smh… I can’t stand fucking trackpads…
It cost $2000 just to mix 2 songs.
Lol…, I feel ya, but this mixer really does have some nice features, like the submix group, and main isolator eq with crossover frequency knobs, that shit is insane!!!

Does the TTM 57MK2 have post fader exffect?
I have seen so many so called “house djs” talk about “real djing” after watching a dj craze video. Let’s see how they all flip flop to this Rotary. Only long and blend mixes allowed…
I don’t know is I can post it here. admin can delet it. But…
Wow… Just wow. What a phenomenal piece of kit.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD…. that MP2015
Anyone know how to put fx on each channels on the rotary mixer? Sorry, beginner on this rotary mixer type stuffs.
Hey Shanice… The MP2015 doesn’t have a built in effect unit but has a send/return to connect external effect processors such as the Korg Kaos Pad or the RMX1000. One of our main goals in designing this mixer was making sure that any DJ could walk up to it, look at it for a minute, and be able to use it. Its a simplistic design up front but one of its best features is the addition of a Submix bus which is used to either group various channels together onto one channel allowing easy and intuitive control of multiple channels OR to add external effects to whatever channels added to the Submix. You’ll notice a wet/dry knob and a Main/Sub switch at the top of the Submix section. To add an effect to any of the channels you would simply press the Sub button on that channel which then sends the audio to the Submix bus. Once there you would use the wet/dry knob to add the dry signal to the effect processor and back.
Just to be clear you’re saying that the one way to select individual channels for FX send is to use the submix button on each channel? I use an RMX-1000 and didn’t give it any thought when I saw this yesterday but after reading this, and looking at it again, it looks like that is the case, maybe?
Yes.. Exactly:)
that wood finish is such a great touch.
Just so people are aware, the MP2015 is NOT a Serato DJ mixer. If you want to use Serato DJ with the MP2015 you’ll need an SL2/3/4 box (or the new Denon DS1). Maybe in the future with the DVS Club Kit upgrade, but alas, as of now, no.
Maybe you can use the SL/DS1 box as a dongle and stlll use the 2015’s interface so you don’t have to do the full DVS hookups. I know Serato Scratch Live worked that way with other mixers with non-Serato interfaces.
Is the 2015 plug and play with serato yet? I’m still not sure after reading all the comments.
They are working on it already. It will be soon both for Traktor and Serato. Read comments below 🙂
The MP2015 is the Rane I’ve been waiting for!!
WOW! I’ll forever be singing in the Rane now 😉
Is the MP2015 going to be serato enabled?
what! my ttm57sl mkI will destroy this lol
Looks like I’m switching to Serato and buying this mixer. Everything I need. I just hope it sounds as good as it looks.
how about lowering the prices on these toys, some djs need to pay a house mortgage lol
I never liked the 57 Honestly but the 62 on the other Hand I fell in love with it! I swear by the 62 and effects and knobs.. I hope this brings down the price of the 62 or even an updated version of the 62!
FYI, The price for the MP2015 is wrong. The MSRP is $3499 with a street price (MAP) of about $2899.
nooooeees
That’s what I thought. 2K is for Pioneer or A&H this one is above all creations so far so I was thinking 2K is not possible. Sad news but maybe in the future.
That rotary is just beautiful. What a product!!! I’d take one of those over a pioneer all day long.
The 62 and 64 have built in FX that don’t require you using serato software. 57 doesn’t have that.
57 has built in effects too
actually Gio you’re right. I was thinking about the first 57 which had built in effects. This mkII version doesn’t as far as I can tell which kind of sucks.
I mean the 57 kinda does but you have to program it in the software ahead of time. It’s not like you have a knob to choose the effect or a screen if you were just using cdjs or vinyl. I see what you mean though because I have a 57.
Already satisfied with my empath rotary but that mp2015 is mine…
I’ve absolutely always wanted an empath rotary but could never find one I could afford. Now, I really don’t care. I want that mp2015!
I’m confused on why someone would pick a 57MKII vs. a 62. Help?
colored buttons, kill buttons
My guess is that the ttm57MKII is more geared towards a purist turntablist that just wants a little bit more in the way of software control (remember the 57 and 57sl are evolutions of the 56, which many still say was the greatest scratch mixer of all time), where the Sixtey-Two is geared to serve a much wider audience of DJ.
There could also be different internal components, maybe.
As am I. I guess DJ’s who REALLY dislike the sides of the Sixty-Two with all the buttons will want to spend on this instead, but with them being the same/so close in price, I don’t see why one would. To each their own, I guess.
lower street price @ $1599-$1699 but some of us still rock the 57SL…now there’s a reason to upgrade to MKII…plus dedicated controls for SDJ…i actually prefer it now that i read the manual…on 62 you have to midi map some extra features you need…it’s the perfect tool for a turntablist+plug & play 95% SDJ control out of the box
Ah, yes…the Serato-specific effects controls are nice as is the lower price. Once Serato fixes the SQ issues in DJ and FX echo distortion issues as well, I’ll probably snag one.
Cause it looks cooler!!! Minimal is all the rave, lol… I’m on my hipster shit….
just only $2199, no wonder some djs don’t own a car
LOL True..Will Probably sell for $1799 I would guess..
$2199 is nothing for pro audio!
Wow. The MP2015 is everything the MP2016 + XP2016 should have always been!
Another site says the MSRP is $3,499 though, which wouldn’t surprise me given how much the new 57 is, and how much consumers of rotary mixers and rackmount isolators pay for them already.
Ya, the 2k does seem super cheap. I will sell my firstborn to get one though so they got my money either way heh.
“Another site”? 😉
Looks to cheap. I think price is wrong.
but no serato on the rotary?!
Need to buy the new Denon Serato interface 🙂
Although the MP2015 has two 96k, studio grade, sound cards we designed this mixer, primarily, for the underground techno and house crowd who predominately use either CDJs or vinyl. The mixer is ready to go as far as compatibility with Serato DJ and/or Traktor though. It currently works with Traktor but without DVS control. Talks have already started between Rane and Serato and I’m sure you’ll see this working with Serato DJ in the very near future. If we get our way it will be a certified DVS mixer with Traktor as well:)
who wants a rotary mixer? they wiil lose a lot of money with that crap.
roflmao, seriously laugh of the day buddy, good on ya.
I STRONGLY disagree…
Yeah..totally off on that..they might sell out the first batch and we have to wait until May…market needed this mixer…
have you ever seen a club with a rotary mixer? i am a pro dj since 15 years and i never saw one..must be in great demand lol.
you are not a pro dj. they’re all over ibiza for instance…
Are you kidding??? From Miami to NYC and everywhere in between, any club worth a damn has a rotary. You must be joking.
Where have you been living? I think you may wish to reword your post. Some serious credibility issues here…
i life in europe , i worked in germany , austriaj, swizzerland, mallorca/spain. no rotarys there. pioneer everywhere.
Depends on the music genre played at the club..It’s an underground house, techno, deep house tool mainly…EDM and “Pop” house not so much..Mixing with long blends where filters are the main effect used to layer music..there is nothing better…
The game has changed my friend:) I am confident if and when you get the chance to play on this beast you won’t look back. Its that good.
a dj who just wants to mix?? and it’s great to see rane doing a mixer that’s different to the standard. Great to see the ttm57 getting an update to serato dj land
rane knows their market, and this is NOT the first time they have made a rotary. i have never mixed with a rotary myself, but i do know some people that absolutely live for them.
wowwwww!!!! when when when!? I need that 57MK2!!!!!
End of March. Got it!
analog filters and isolators?
i think it is all digital.
but i’d still say sweet sounding
This is a digital mixer but NO expense was spared in making sure this is the best sounding DJ mixer on the planet. The analog vs. digital argument is null in void when it comes to this beast. You gotta hear it and play on it. It speaks for itself. One thing I can say.. the pop/click you hear when turning on/off the analog filters on the Xone92, for example, you won’t hear at all with the MP2015. Our lead engineer, Rick Jeffs, is the same person who engineered the MP2016 and every other mixer Rane has ever put out. This is his and Rane’s best work yet…. by FAR.
Does this mixer come with a bag? Really thinking of selling my db4 for this unit..
We’ve been in talks with Magma and they have a few great bags that fit the MP2015. I don’t think we’ll be selling them directly but you can order them from Magma or Magma dealers.
They hit a homerun here. Rane mixers always feel so nice. I loved the last 57 and this is a welcome improvement. I really wish more companies were building dual soundcards into their mixers.
I agree, but 2 grand for a 2 channel is a bit crazy.
$2k is steep. I can say that we had the previous 57 in a radio station I DJ and it is abused day in and day out but is still a beast.
At this point Rane is the only brand who can get away with that price.
Yea but its still steep if you compare the 62 and this new 57!!
If I had to choose the 57mk2 and the Rane 62 I would choose the 62 everytime! More effects, lit up lights for the dark club, its has more to offer than the 57 and thats sad.. however if they priced it at the same price as the 61 then it makes sense as a replacement. At my radio station here in New York we use the 62 and I seen most of the DJs already moved on to use the 62 look at Jazzy Jeff, everyone that competes at threestyle they all use the 62 🙂
Now the day they come up with a 62 upgrade then I would be heads over heels 🙂
that’s MSRP real street price is $499 less @ $1699-1799ish…not bad for a bullet proof mixer+silicone backlit pads…can’t wait…RANE has really thought the whole thing through very very well…download the Manual and see all it does…i love it
jesus fucking christ that rane rotary is gorgeous. now THATS how you design a product.
Hell effin’ yes. First mixer I’ve seen in a while where I thought, “I need that”.
I’m actually trying to wrap my head around all the insane features on this thing and my head is exploding.
The sweep filter options, 3 band mix isolator & 2 sound cards built in alone..
Exactly to All of the above..My first RANE mixer for sure….House DJ’s New Tool.. Hey…RANE..make a nice carry case or cover for it please..I don’t want it damaged and look nice on the road…
I’ll be doing a tonne of saving for it -_- it’s just so damn beautiful, could mix on that for days
That eyeball bleeding price doesn’t even seem expensive.
